Thanks to its flat landscape profile and its very well-developed cycle paths, there is pure cycling fun. In addition to the impressive nature, 4 castles form the historical setting. During the day you travel to Cottbus on your own. With its large parks and gardens, the Lusatian metropolis is one of the greenest cities in Germany. The old town with the old fortifications invites you to stroll and the old market with its many restaurants to an enjoyable end to the day.
Overnight place: Cottbus
At the beginning of your stage you should definitely take a look at the Fürst Pückler Park Branitz with its castle, visitor center and the two pyramids. Then it goes past the former lignite opencast mine and through the largest contiguous pond area in Germany to the fortress town of Peitz. In the stork village of Dissen you will learn interesting facts about Master Adebar and the Sorbs before you reach the scattered settlement of Burg.

With the varied round tour through the "Venice of the East" you can start your tour today and extend it by 29 km. You then cycle from Burg to Straupitz, where the imposing Schinkel Church and the triple Dutch mill await you. Try the healthy Straupitzer linseed oil. It continues through an extensive forest and meadow landscape to Lübben, the gateway to the Lower Spreewald. In Lübben Castle, the coat of arms hall is worth seeing and the castle island invites you to linger and relax.

From Lübben you cycle through a wonderful pond landscape to Schlepzig, the most beautiful village in the Lower Spreewald. Many sights such as the farmer's museum, a brewery and a distillery, a small boat ferry port and the visitor center of the UNESCO biosphere reserve can be visited. Afterwards, all bathing enthusiasts can take a detour to Lake Köthen before heading back to Lübben through the pine forest in Brandenburg. Lübbenau is not far along the Spree, where you will find the colorful market life at the Great Harbor.

In the secret capital of the Spreewald, a relaxing rest day or a short bike tour around Lübbenau awaits you today. During a 2-hour boat trip through the high forest, you will experience the Spreewald from its most beautiful side. You should also plan some time for Lehde, the pocket-sized lagoon village (fontane). In the gherkin museum (admission included) everything revolves around the well-known Spreewald vegetable, which you can also taste there. In the open-air museum, on the other hand, time seems to stand still and you immerse yourself in the life of the Sorbs in the 19th century.
Overnight place: Lübbenau
On the way to Leipe you cycle on one of the most beautiful sections of the trail for about 5 km along rivers through the shady high forest. In Vetschau, the city palace from the 16th century awaits you, in which the magnificent Knights' Hall can be admired. But the German-Wendish double church and the white stork information center are also worth seeing. On the way you can stop at many rustic inns and try regional delicacies. The old Spreewald train station in Burg offers you a special experience, where the drinks are brought to your table by train.
