Black Forest - Lake Constance

You start your hike from the Saiger Höhe above the Titisee over the Hochfirst. From here you have a beautiful view of Titisee, Feldberg and the peaks of the Austrian and Swiss Alps. The cross path takes you deep down to the first highlight, the Wutachschlucht. In this nature park you hike through an exciting primeval landscape with romantic gorges and rushing waterfalls. The hiking bus takes you from the Schattenmühle to your accommodation.

Overnight place: Shadow Mill

Take the bus back to Schattenmühle. Always along the banks of the Wutach you hike through the breathtaking landscape over bridges and footbridges on the river. Leisurely hiking trails then lead you to Achdorf, where the river is diverted towards the Rhine. You reach today's destination Blumberg via the Schleifenbach waterfalls, an impressive natural spectacle. Once there, you should take a look at the Gänseliesel fountain and marvel at the town's important jester masks.

Today's hike takes you over the Buchberg with a view of the famous Sauschwänzlebahn through extensive forest areas. Randen offers you another impressive sight: the Blue Stone, a group of rocks made up of basalt columns up to 10 meters high that were created when the westernmost Hegau volcanoes erupted. The remaining kilometers lead you through a charming stretch of land to your destination in Tengen.

From Tengen, the next stage takes you past the Wannenberg over the Duggenhart, one of the higher wooded hills that the old postal route touches. Here you have the best views of the snowy Alps in the distance and the harmonious Hegau landscape at your feet. You hike comfortably through a harmonious field and forest landscape to Engen, where a stroll in the old town, which is well worth seeing, tempts you.

Right in the middle - all around the ancient, long-extinct volcanic cones of the Hegau, the adjacent Lake Constance and the majestic chain of Alps. The seven Hegau mountains Hohentwiel, Hohenstoffeln, Hohenkrähen, Mägdeberg, Hohenhewen, Neuhewen and the Höwenegg line up next to each other. The remains of the Hohenhewen castle ruins are still preserved on the 845 m high local mountain. From the viewing platform you can admire the Hegau and, on a clear day, even Lake Constance and the Alps. In the open field you hike over peaks, past the Mägdeberg ruins to Singen with its numerous cultural monuments.

Finally, the cross-country trail leads you past Friedinger Schlössle through Steißlingen to the Homberg ruins, from where you can enjoy a magnificent view over the Lower Lake Constance (Untersee) with Reichenau Island and the Mettnau peninsula near Radolfzell. Soon after, you leave the cross-country trail and walk past the Mindelsee nature reserve to Lake Constance.
