The Oder-Neiße-Cycle route begins in Nova Ves in the Czech Republic and leads via Liberec for a good 32 kilometers through the Czech Republic before crossing the border with Germany. The city in the border triangle is an interesting starting point for a cycling trip. On the one hand, you can arrive a day earlier to plan a trip to Liberec in the Czech Republic or to the source of the Neisse. On the other hand, there is also a lot to discover in Zittau itself, such as the pretty old town center, which is a listed building.

Your first bike tour takes you mostly along wonderfully romantic bike paths directly on the banks of the Neisse. You will soon reach the town of Ostritz, which is known for the monastery of St. Marienthal. You should not miss a visit to the oldest women's monastery of the Cistercian Order in Germany. In the afternoon you will reach the medieval town of Görlitz, whose architectural wealth will amaze you. Over 4.000 architectural monuments from 500 years of European building history can be experienced here!

Today, the Oder-Neiße-Cycle path often runs along the banks. You pass typical heath villages and soon the town of Rothenburg before you reach today's destination and another highlight of your cycling trip: in Bad Muskau, the Fürst-Pückler-Park invites you to take long walks or bike rides. The garden, which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, offers extraordinary nature experiences, unique bridges, picturesque lakes and rivers and majestic trees... Full of impressions, you continue your cycling trip to Guben. On the border with Brandenburg, you have the opportunity to discover the life of the local heath farmers in the Heath Farmers Museum and to stroll through wonderful farm flower and herb gardens. The next stop on your cycling tour is the town of Forst, whose rose garden covers a total area of ​​17 hectares and presents around 800 types of roses on tens of thousands of rose bushes. In Guben, the neo-Gothic monastery church, the Church of the Good Shepherd and the ruins of the Guben town and main church are worth seeing.

Characteristic for today's section of the Oder-NeißeThe route of the cycle path is on and along the Oder dam. Right at the start of the cycle tour you have to say goodbye to the Neisse, because in Ratzdorf the Neisse flows into the Oder. Now it is only a short distance to Neuzelle with its baroque collegiate church of St. Mary. The industrial town of Eisenhüttenstadt, with its spacious open spaces and green areas, is also a good place for a cycling break. You will soon reach Frankfurt/Oder, whose diversity will surprise and delight you.

Today we're going through the lowlands along the Oder, the Oderbruch. Even Theodor Fontane appreciated the harsh beauty of the landscape and you too will surely be impressed: cycling in the flat marshland and on the dyke is an unforgettable experience.

Unique nature awaits you on this bike tour too. You will pass through the Lower Oder Valley National Park, Germany's only floodplain national park, which is one of the most species-rich habitats in our country. You will cycle past the Stolper Grützpott, a 26-meter-high defensive tower from the 12th century, and continue to Schwedt.

Today's stage is hilly, wooded and sparsely populated. We pass the medieval city fortifications of Gartz and head to Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania.

The penultimate stage takes you through extensive heathland to the fishing town of Ueckermünde. The picturesque banks of the Uecker and the adjacent Szczecin Lagoon provide a habitat for numerous animal and plant species.

From Ueckermünde you will drive to the Kamp ferry terminal in the morning, where the emission-free ferry will take you to Usedom From Karnin it is now not far to the Baltic Sea.
