Well developed and consistently signposted, it leads along the Spree in a flat landscape from Cottbus to Potsdam. In Potsdam, the magnificent state capital of Brandenburg, the past and the present are harmoniously combined. In the stagecoach town you will experience Pückler's garden kingdom with the famous pyramids before you cross the Spreewald, which will delight you with its beauty and nature. Beeskow, with its pretty old town, and the cathedral town of Fürstenwalde, on the other hand, offer cultural variety. Experience the Spree in all its diversity on this tour!

Overnight place: Cottbus
The route leads to the old fortified town of Peitz along the Peitzer Teiche, the largest contiguous pond area in Germany. You should pay a visit to the Peitz ironworks and fisheries museum before you cycle on. The journey to the scattered settlement of Burg goes along the Spree. Alternatively, you can cycle along the cucumber cycle path to the stork village of Dissen, which has interesting facts about the Sorbs and Master Adebar in the local history museum (own management).
Overnight place: Castle
Today we go into the green labyrinth of the Spreewald. The beautiful path leads past countless streams through the high forest to Lübbenau. A detour to the lagoon village of Lehde should definitely be planned. Theodor Fontane called it “Venice in pocket size”. On the way, rustic Spreewald inns (Wotschofska) invite you to rest and there is enough time for a relaxing boat trip.
Overnight place: Krausnick or Schlepzig
The destination of today's stage is the town of Beeskow in Brandenburg, with a historic town center and an almost completely preserved town wall. On the way there are the Neuendorfersee and the Schwielochsee, a paradise for nature lovers and water lovers. Beeskows Burg houses a regional home and culture museum on the history of the region and the Marienkirche, one of the largest churches in Mark Brandenburg, awaits you.
Overnight place: Beeskow
The journey continues along the meanders of the Spree to Fürstenwalde. You drive through one of the most beautiful forest areas in Brandenburg between the Spree and the Oder-Spree Canal. Enjoy the peace once again.
Overnight place: Fürstenwalde
From Fürstenwalde you drive to Köpenick and leave the green forest landscape of Brandenburg. You can take the S-Bahn (on your own) from the outskirts of Berlin to the city centre. Sights such as the Bundestag and the Brandenburg Gate can be reached in a short distance.
Overnight place: Berlin Kopenick
From Berlin Köpenick, drive northwest towards Berlin Mitte. In the Lichtenberg district the path takes you over the Spree.

At the Brandenburg Gate, the route leads along the former wall to Potsdamer Platz and on to the former Checkpoint Charlie border crossing with the border museum in Kreuzberg. The East Side Gallery begins at the Ostbahnhof, a piece of wall strip painted by artists.
Before continuing your journey, you should take a detour to the Soviet memorial in Treptower Park. You cycle on the route of the former main line, the first railway in Prussia. Further along the way you pass the former Dreilinden checkpoint and take the Königsweg through the Berlin Forest to Babelsberg and Potsdam. Use the afternoon to visit Sanssouci Palace.
