Overnight stay in Lucerne
The path of this tour first leads over a gentle chain of hills with wonderful views of Lake Lucerne and the nearby Rigi. The dreamy meadows and side streets almost make you forget how close the city of Lucerne is. Then you walk past the beach promenade in Küssnacht to Weggis, from where the ship takes you to Beckenried. The path leads along the lake to the Horw peninsula, which is a great end to this tour with a view of Lucerne's local mountain - the Pilatus.
Through the neighboring town of Emmenbrücke you reach the back of the Brunauer Berg, where there are numerous farms and fields. This stage has a few small climbs to offer, but the views of the nearby Emmental and the beautiful farmhouses make up for the effort. Finally, you roll past Werthenstein Monastery along the small Emme back to Lucerne.
Today's destination is the picturesque town of Sursee on Lake Sempach. The way there leads mostly on side roads through quiet forests and past fields and farms. From here there is also a fantastic view of the nearby Alpine peaks and Mount Pilatus. Sursee is the perfect place for a lunch break before heading home on narrow paths right next to Lake Sempach.
The first part of the route takes you back to Küssnacht on Lake Lucerne. From here it is only a few kilometers to Lake Zug, which borders the back of Mount Rigi. The ship is already waiting for you in Immensee to take you to the city of Zug. From here along the lake shore to Rotkreuz, from where you follow a forest adventure trail back to Lucerne.
Today's stage takes you past Emmenbrücke to Baldeggersee, which is home to over 300 species of plants. Picturesquely located on the shore of this lake is Heidegg Castle, which has a beautifully preserved park and cultural landscape. Those who wish can take a short tour of the rose garden before the bike takes you back to Lucerne for the last time.
After breakfast departure on your own.
