In Lübeck you have the opportunity to explore the old town, which is surrounded by water and is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, with around 1800 listed buildings, historic alleys and winding corridors. From the cultural capital of the north you can also experience the coast of the Bay of Lübeck and the Old Salt Road as well as Lake Plön.

Overview of your benefits
  • Good value for money
  • Tour incl. hotels and luggage transport
  • Extensive route booklet & GPS data
  • Top brand rental bikes bookable
  • More than 30 years of experience

On their own. Start your journey, for example, with a leisurely stroll around the old town island.

Overnight place: Lübeck

The first star tour takes you to Travemünde on the Baltic Sea, which belongs to Lübeck. Make the journey relaxed by ship (own management) or by bike. From Travemünde you cycle via Niendorf to Timmendorfer Strand. In bad weather, a visit to the aquarium or the thermal baths is worthwhile. Passing the Hemmelsdorfer See and the Trave it goes back to Lübeck.

Overnight place: Like the day before in Lübeck

In the Middle Ages, valuable salt was transported to Lübeck on the Salt Road.
As a spice and preservative, salt was one of the most important trade goods for centuries, to which Lübeck owes its wealth. Discover the beauty of the region on the historic trade route, which has now been developed into a long-distance cycle path. Cycle along the shores of Lake Ratzeburg and pay a visit to the Eulenspiegel Fountain in Mölln before heading back north along the Elbe-Lübeck Canal.

Overnight place: Like the day before in Lübeck

Cycling to the north-west, you will reach Bad Schwartau in a few kilometers, not only known for the jam produced there, but also as a state-approved iodine brine and mud spa. After a break in Pronstorf/Strenglin near the Wardersee, you continue north until you finally reach the Großer Plöner See, where you can cycle along the shore to Plön or Malente. A train ride (on your own) takes you back from both places.

Overnight place: Like the day before in Lübeck

Discover the secrets of the venerable Hanseatic city on a guided tour (incl.), stroll through the picturesque little corridors, climb the tower of St. Petrikirche for a great view over the whole city or paddle a canoe across the Wakenitz. There is a lot to experience in Lübeck, there is definitely something for everyone.

Overnight place: Like the day before in Lübeck

After breakfast, you will travel home on your own or with an extension.

Queen of the Hanseatic League (and don't forget the marzipan)! [Queen of the Hansa (and don't forget the marzipan)!]

We waren at the excellent family-run Hotel Lindenhof, which is perfectly located for the train station and the city's attractions. The choice of breakfast at the hotel is great and just what every cyclist needs before starting their journey. Our excellent Guest Relations Officer, Mr. Bernd Mietzsch, was always available and so were we waren very grateful for fitting a water bottle cage to our bikes due to the sunny weather - we also appreciate his suggestion that we travel to Travemunde on the MS Nordland family run river cruise operated by Könemann Schiffahrt - definitely worth the trip for the captain's enthusiastic live commentary . The bikes waren, as always, perfect - and the tours full of interest and scenery. Lübeck is a fascinating place steeped in history and we could easily see why it was awarded UNESCO status. The only other thing we warn about is that if they (like us) went to Plön on a Sunday then many of the places to eat between Lübeck and Plön seem to be closed on Sunday lunchtime - us waren very grateful you discover the route passes the excellent Café Juglans in Dakendorf (Zu den Gründer 19) which serves snacks, cakes and refreshments - if it hadn't been for this cafe we would have had to pack the food before starting the ride . Instead we could enjoy cake while sitting next to the huge walnut tree in their garden. Apart from this small potential problem, the bikes, hotel and vacation waren perfect and we hope others enjoy this tour as much as we do. -------------------------------------------------- -------------------------------------------------- ----------------------------------------------------- We stayed at the excellent family -run Hotel Lindenhof, which is located perfectly for both the station and the attractions of the city.
