This cycle tour starts in Waren (Müritz), leads to the source of the Havel and follows the course of the Havel through the Mecklenburg Lake District to Berlin and Potsdam. Continue through the Havel lake area to Brandenburg and through the West Havelland nature park to the mouth of the Elbe to Havelberg.

You cycle to Ankershagen. The Heinrich Schliemann Museum is located here.
In Kratzeburg, an exhibition on the source of the Havel awaits you. Along the Havel to the Wesenberger Seenkreuz, on to Neustrelitz.
Overnight place: Neustrelitz
Worth seeing are the castle gardens and the Slavic village on Lake Zierker. After Wesenberg and through the land of 1.000 lakes to the upper Havel waterway to Stechlin.
Overnight place: Furstenberg or the surrounding area
To the south you follow the river on the edge of the Uckermark Lake District Nature Park.
In Mildenberg you will reach the brickworks park. Through the upper Havel lowland you follow the river through a forest area between Liebenwalde and Oranienburg. The city is named after the Elector of Brandenburg and Princess Henriette of Orange-Nassau.
Overnight place: Oranienburg
The baroque palace houses the district museum Oberhavel (under own direction). Your tour follows the Oder-Havel Canal via Henningsdorf to Spandau on largely quiet roads and well-developed cycle paths, as well as forest and riverside paths.
Overnight place: Berlin-Spandau
A visit to the Spandau Citadel (on your own) is worthwhile. Through the Grunewald it goes to Wannsee. On the way you cross the Glienicke Bridge to Potsdam.

Along the Havel from Potsdam to the oldest town in Brandenburg and the cradle of the Mark Brandenburg. The romantic Havel landscape has fascinated princes and artists for centuries.
Overnight place: Brandenburg
A visit to the cathedral is worthwhile before continuing your journey. Around the Breitlingsee and Plauer See, it goes through the Westhavelland Nature Park to Rathenow. Discover the city of optics.
Overnight place: Rathenow
Today's stage takes you further through the Westhavelland Nature Park to the Elbe. The area is characterized by wooded elevations and small Brandenburg villages.
Overnight place: Havelberg
Through the Prignitz on a signposted bishop's tour. You visit the place of pilgrimage
Bad Wilsnack and can stop at Northern Germany's oldest moated castle.
Overnight place: Pritzwalk
In the village of Heiligengrabe you can visit the monastery museum of the Cistercian monastery and in Wittstock on the Bischofsberg a museum on the 30-year war.
Overnight place: Robel or the surrounding area
On the last day of cycling you can enjoy the wide, open hilly landscape on the west bank of the Müritz.
