On this special Moselle trip, get to know the wide world of Moselle wines directly from the winegrowers. Famous white wine grapes such as B. the Riesling, whose small berries ripen extremely late, and other noble grape varieties are at home here. Your hosts are all wine specialists and will be happy to show you their cellars and production facilities. You stay overnight in Trier-Ruwer in the wine hotel and in Neumagen-Dhron, Reil/ Burg and Pomerania in wineries with modern guest rooms. Of course you can get your own impression of the skills of the winegrowers on site, because this trip even includes 3 wine tastings. So you can enjoy Moselle hospitality, wonderful wines and a very well-signposted, flat bike path along the way.

Two wine glasses and a wine bottle are on a table and in the background you can see the Moselle with its vineyards

Tour map of the Moselle cycle path

Day 1: Trier/Ruwertal Arrival

Arrive early in the idyllic Ruwer Valley, just outside Trier. You spend the night in the middle of the vineyards in a beautiful hotel with its own vineyards.

Day 2: Neumagen-Dhron / Piesport 39/44 km

Accompanied by grapevines, you roll through the Ruwertal towards the Moselle, where you are welcomed by the old ferry tower in Schweich. Marvel at the small wine village of Mehring with the famous Villa Rustica, a ruin that was a magnificent country house in Roman times. Stroll through Mehring
with its lovingly designed "Moselgassen" and don't be afraid to open the vine-covered gates of the wineries. This day's stage ends in Neumagen-Dhron, the oldest wine village in Germany, or in the small wine village of Piesport with its nice cafés, taverns and wine taverns. There you can convince yourself of the good quality of the Piesporter Goldtröpfchen.

Day 3: Reil / Burg 48/52 km

Today you stroll across the beautiful market square of Bernkastel-Kues. In the famous wine museum you will learn everything about working in the vineyard, growing wine on steep slopes, the different grape varieties, wine storage and of course wine culture. You cycle directly on the banks of the Moselle to Zeltingen with the world-famous vineyards of the Zeltinger Himmelreich, Schlossberg,

Sonnenuhr and Deutschherrenberg and then through the Kröver Nacktarsch wine-growing region to your winery in Burg or Reil near Traben-Trarbach.

Day 4: Pomerania / Treis-Karden 57/59 km

In the morning you roll through the wine-growing region of Zeller Schwarze Katz to Bullay. Be amazed
the bridge that is unique in Germany and connects Bullay with Alf. The steel structure spans
the Moselle has two tiers: above for the railroad and below for the road traffic. Discover
the romantic town of Beilstein with its nickname “Rothenburg an der Mosel”, stroll through the picturesque center of Cochem, visit the old imperial castle from the 11th century or visit the Rieslingstub'n. Enjoy the delicately fruity Riesling from the world-famous steep slate slopes around Cochem between historic wine-growing equipment or in the inner courtyard entwined with vines. Finally, you will reach the pretty wine town of Pomerania and your winery, where you will spend the night.

Day 5: Koblenz 48/43 km

Today, a detour (4 km) to the medieval Eltz Castle, one of the most beautiful and best-preserved castles in Germany, is wonderfully romantic and nestled in unspoilt nature. Take an informative castle tour. Then cycle back to the Moselle cycle path and cycle to the historic wine village

Kobern-Gondorf. Visit a terraced winery with its rocky steep slopes, most of which can only be built by hand. Mainly Riesling and Pinot Noir grapes grow on these steep slopes. Find out more about his work and products directly from the winemaker. Make a short detour through the wine town of Winningen, which is one of the most beautiful villages in Germany, and look forward to a nice end to the day in Koblenz, the town on the Deutsches Eck.
