On a classic route, this bike tour combines getting to know wonderful landscapes along the great river with visits to the old and yet eternally young Danube metropolises. Vienna, Bratislava and Budapest - cities that still bask in the splendor of bygone times. In this beautiful and varied river landscape you will always come across cultural sites that tell stories of bygone times and exude a touch of nostalgia. Eckartsau Castle became the fateful castle of the last Austrian imperial couple, Karl I and Zita. Bratislava was also the coronation city of Hungarian kings and achieved the greatest fame under Empress Maria Theresa. Esztergom, with the largest church in Hungary, is the birthplace and coronation city of the first Hungarian king, Stephen, and Empress Sissi of Austria was crowned Queen of Hungary in Budapest.
