The path leads you uphill over the impressive Rissloch Falls to the Chamer Hütte. Here, in addition to a stop, you can also make a detour to the Kleiner Arber. The Goldsteig takes you to the king of the Bavarian Forest - the Großer Arber at 1456 meters. Enjoy the magnificent all-round view before descending to the Großer Arbersee.

Overnight place: Great Arbersee
After a bus ride to the Großer Arbersee you hike down into the valley. Along the Großer Regen river you reach the climatic health resort of Bayerisch Eisenstein. The path below the Hochberg continues slightly uphill. After a refreshment in the Schwellhäusl you walk past the Triftbach to the Zwieslerwaldhaus.
290 m ascent - 520 m descent
Overnight place: Zwieslerwaldhaus
Today you pass the oldest Schachten (former forest pasture for young cattle), the Ruckowitzschachten. After climbing to the summit of the Großer Falkenstein, we recommend taking a break while you enjoy the breathtaking view. Below the Scheuereckberg there is one of the most beautiful shafts in Arberland, the yearling shaft.
850 m ascent - 810 m descent
Overnight place: Buchenau area
In addition to the original Zwielter Filz high moor, you will experience other shafts. You follow the Goldsteig to the Waldschmidthaus below the summit of the Großer Rachel.
830 m ascent - 620 m descent
Overnight place: If necessary
It goes steadily uphill to the summit of the Great Rachel. A short detour to the picturesque Rachelsee chapel with a view of the Rachelsee is highly recommended! The hiking trail takes you further over the Felsenkanzel and through mixed mountain forests to the Teufelsloch. There you leave the Goldsteig and hike down to Waldhäuser.
420 m ascent - 660 m descent
Overnight place: Forest houses area
The long climb to Lusen (1373 m) over the stony ladder to heaven is rewarded with an impressive view over the sea of blocks with its massive granite blocks. The gradual descent to Mauth is more relaxed. The forest meadow at the Tummelplatz, below the Großalmeyerschloss mountain, as well as the Steinbachklause are suitable for a leisurely rest and as the end of the hiking tour.
