Learn moreThe Weser is one of the most important and most beautiful German rivers. The starting point of this cycle tour is the half-timbered idyll of Hann. Münden - where the Werra and Fulda form the Weser. Already in this small town you will witness the impressive Weser Renaissance with carefully restored half-timbered houses - a visual delight. From here you follow the meanders of the river through the Weserbergland, which has many treasures in store with numerous forest areas and small, pretty towns. All in all, a scenic and culturally very interesting journey, which is easy and relaxing to cycle due to the consistently flat route.
Individual arrival in Hann. mouths. In the late afternoon there will be an information session and the bikes will be handed over (if booked). A first acclimatization tour by bike could already be in the old town of Hann. Münden lead. A stroll through the medieval town center of this town with its historic half-timbered buildings from the Weser Renaissance is highly recommended.
Overnight stay: Hann. Münden
Your bike tour should start at the Weserstein. Exactly where Werra and Fulda "kiss". The stage leads via Hemeln and past the former Benedictine monastery of Bursfelde to the baroque Huguenot town of Bad Karlshafen. The center of Bad Karlshafen offers an interesting contrast to the usual half-timbered idyll with its neat, renovated houses in the baroque style. There are numerous highlights along the way: the town of Fürstenberg with its porcelain factory and the old Hanseatic town of Höxter with more than 160 buildings worthy of monuments, mostly half-timbered houses. The small town of Beverungen has retained much of its historic face. Holzminden is known for the production of aromatic essences and perfume oils.

Many a romantic village along the way invites you to linger. Corvey Castle, the former imperial abbey near Höxter, offers an attractive mixture of art and culture. The romantic town of Bodenwerder was made famous by the world famous Liar Baron von Münchhausen. The Pied Piper town of Hameln impresses with an intact old town, wonderful half-timbered houses and buildings in the typical style of the Weser Renaissance from the 16th and 17th centuries.
Overnight stay in Hameln or Rinteln
On today's stage, a romantic, protected floodplain landscape dominates - the Middle Weser. Cycle through the flat country with meadows, black and white spotted cows, isolated farms and numerous windmills.
Accommodation location: Stolzenau
The route takes you to Nienburg. Nienburg was characterized by its strong fortifications, and even today its charming old town is well worth seeing. The historically rich landscape of the Middle Weser, the County of Hoya, is traversed by the Weser Cycle Path. In this distinctive Weser marshland, you'll find traditional villages and scattered farmsteads. After this scenic leg of the journey, Verden offers a crowning finale. The landmark of this city is its cathedral. Verden owes its current importance to its reputation as a renowned equestrian and horse-riding town.
Overnight stay: Bücken/Verden
From from the streets and through park-like areas, the cycle path leads car-free into the city center of Bremen. As the second largest North Sea port, the city is of great importance in shipping and overseas trade. Worth seeing are the Schnoor district, the Roland and the monument to the Bremen Town Musicians. Depart on your own in the afternoon or you can start your extra day and enjoy the Hanseatic city of Bremen to the full.

Return journey: Transfer from Bremen to Hann. Münden, see “Prices” for further information. We recommend using this transfer for your outbound journey. This way, your car will already be in Bremen, and you can drive home at your leisure.
