The Weser is one of Germany's most important and beautiful rivers. This cycling tour begins in the idyllic half-timbered town of Hannoversch Münden, where the Werra and Fulda rivers converge to form the Weser. Even in this small town, you'll witness the impressive Weser Renaissance architecture with its meticulously restored half-timbered houses – a true visual delight. From here, you'll follow the river's meanders through the Weser Uplands, a region rich in forests and charming villages, offering a wealth of treasures. Along the way, you'll encounter medieval half-timbered towns like Höxter, Rinteln, and Hameln, meet the legendary Baron Münchhausen in Bodenwerder, and be enchanted by the Pied Piper town of Hameln with its magnificent old town. Nienburg also captivates with its historic center, Verden with its cathedral, and the city of Bremen with its Roland statue, Town Musicians of Bremen, and the Schnoor quarter. All in all, this is a scenic and culturally rich journey, made easy and relaxing to cycle thanks to the consistently flat terrain.

Individual arrival in Hann. mouths. In the late afternoon there will be an information session and the bikes will be handed over (if booked). A first acclimatization tour by bike could already be in the old town of Hann. Münden lead. A stroll through the medieval town center of this town with its historic half-timbered buildings from the Weser Renaissance is highly recommended.

Overnight place: Hann. mouths

Your bike tour should start at the Weserstein. Exactly where Werra and Fulda "kiss". The stage leads via Hemeln and past the former Benedictine monastery of Bursfelde to the baroque Huguenot town of Bad Karlshafen. The center of Bad Karlshafen offers an interesting contrast to the usual half-timbered idyll with its pretty, renovated houses in the baroque style.

Overnight place: Bad Karlshafen or Beverungen

There are numerous highlights along the way: the town of Fürstenberg with its porcelain factory and the old Hanseatic town of Höxter with more than 160 listed buildings, mostly half-timbered houses. Corvey Castle, the former imperial abbey near Höxter, offers an attractive mixture of art and culture. The small town of Beverungen has retained much of its historic face. Holzminden is known for the production of aromatic essences and perfume oils.

Overnight place: Holzminden or Bodenwerder

Many a romantic village along the way invites you to linger. The romantic town of Bodenwerder was made famous by the world famous Liar Baron von Münchhausen. The Pied Piper town of Hameln impresses with an intact old town, wonderful half-timbered houses and buildings in the typical style of the Weser Renaissance from the 16th and 17th centuries.

Overnight place: Hamelin or Rinteln

At Porta Westfalica, the river breaks through the Wiehen and Weser Mountains and reaches the North German Plain. On the way, the 13th-century town of Rinteln offers numerous buildings from the Weser Renaissance. Minden was once a thriving trading town in the Middle Ages, but was severely damaged in World War II. It was rebuilt as part of an exemplary urban redevelopment.

Overnight place: All

After the low mountain ranges, a romantic, protected floodplain landscape predominates today - the Middle Weser. You can look far out over the flat land with meadows, black and white spotted cows, isolated farms and numerous windmills. Nienburg was characterized by its strong fortifications and even today the pretty old town is well worth seeing.

Overnight place: Nienburg

The history-charged landscape of the Middle Weser, the county of Hoya, is crossed today on the Weser Cycle Path. Original villages and isolated farmsteads can be found in this distinctive Weser Marsh. After this natural stage, Verden offers a grand finale. The symbol of this city is the cathedral. Verden is known as a rider and horse town.

Overnight place: Verden

From from the streets and through park-like areas, the cycle path leads car-free into the city center of Bremen. As the second largest North Sea port, the city is very important in shipping and overseas trade. The Schnoorviertel, the Roland and the monument to the Bremen Town Musicians are worth seeing. Individual return journey in the afternoon or you can start your extended day and thoroughly enjoy the Hanseatic city of Bremen. No further overnight stay in Bremen. Optionally, we would be happy to book additional nights for you.

Weserradweg is highly recommended.

We can highly recommend the Weser Cycle Path. Even if there are often 60-70km to ride, the exertion is limited even for untrained cyclists. We rode this bike trail in September 2015. The weather was mixed but with the right clothing even the rare rain was not a problem. There were only occasional headwinds on a few short stretches. The cycle path is almost entirely flat with rare inclines. The signage is very good throughout. The bike path is mostly paved. Otherwise there are beautiful and interesting cities and sights to visit along the way. Nature is also not neglected. :-)

Prima

We were very happy with the tour. The weather was great and all the hotels were really great considering the category we booked.

Hassle-free rebooking

It was a very nice trip what you organized, everything worked out wonderfully. The rebooking of the bikes from normal to electric bikes was also done without any problems. I wish you all the best in the old and new year, I will definitely go on another cycle tour with you next year.

It might be interesting to have an offer that allows you to stay in one place for more than one night or day, as there is always a lot to see.
