Zell am See on the shore of Lake Zell is ideal for a cycling holiday in the Salzburg region. The Tauernradweg leads directly through the village and opens up the region in every direction. A particularly impressive destination is the Krimml Waterfalls, which tumble 380 meters into the depths. Top of Salzburg – you can enjoy this view from the Kitzsteinhorn to the surrounding three-thousanders of the Hohe Tauern National Park. Continuously developed and mainly asphalted bike path, some passages are gravel. Ambitious cyclists can increase the distances as they wish.

Swing into the saddle for the first tour of your cycling holiday. Your path leads through the Fuschertal, past Brennkogel, Hohem Tenner and Schwarzkopf. The Mühlauer Saw Museum, at the foot of the Großglockner High Alpine Road, tells the story of the origins of this famous alpine panorama road. If you like, you can extend the bike tour to Ferleiten (+ 7 km and 340 hm)

Today you'll change trains: Take the local train or bus to Krimml. From there, hike along the rushing Krimmler Ache river up to the highest waterfalls in Europe – a true natural wonder! Well-maintained paths offer views of thundering cascades, rainbows in the spray, and quiet spots for a relaxing break with a view.

The upcoming bike stage falls into the category "comfortable". It begins at Lake Zell and initially takes you to Maishofen. We recommend a stop with refreshments at Schloss Kammer. Then continue the bike tour via Maria Alm until you arrive back in the Zell am See/Kaprun region.
