The Fulda Cycle Path begins in Gersfeld, near the Wasserkuppe in the Rhön Mountains. Its route extends beyond the Fulda River to Bad Karlshafen, reaching the border between Hesse and Lower Saxony. 

Yes, Fulda and the surrounding area are great for cycling. The city is located on several cycle paths, including the Fulda cycle path itself. The city is well connected to the surrounding area and there are both flat sections along the river and hillier routes in the area. There are also well-developed cycle paths and a bicycle-friendly infrastructure.

The Fulda cycle path (R1) is around 255 km long. It runs from the source of the Fulda in the Rhön to its mouth in the Weser near Hann. Münden.

The tour starts in Gersfeld. Along the way, we'll pass through Fulda, Hersfeld, Melsungen, and finally Hannoversch Münden, our destination. The Fulda Cycle Path also continues a little further along the Weser Cycle Path towards the Hessian-Lower Saxon border at Bad Karlshafen.
